Different 'Modes' of Music Video - TASK

Wiley (Ft. Daniel Merriweather):  Cash in my Pocket.

Camera work 
low angle shots, showing the people from a low angle and also the buildings.It gives a sense of powerlessness and makes the audience feel useful in the scene.

The camera movement
moved by someone, as this will bring the audience to see as if they were inside the scene, making the video more entertaining for the audience.  

Editing 
cross cutting, cutways from one shot to another and goes in to the main song.
there is a continuity editing all the way through the song as it goes one to another employee and making everyone involved in the song. it creates the scene of reality and time moving forward.  

Mise-en-Scene
the setting/location, a working environment linking in with the idea of what the song is all about and is very suited as it shows a suitable location to go with the song.
Construction/content - showing a working environment to go in with the idea of the music
Representations 
The money and wealth linking in with the idea of song talking about "money", representing high class people for example employees and managers who are in a office.

How does the video adhere to, subvert or develop the conventions of the musical genre?
genre - grime, electronic and pop
the music has used the type of different genre for example grime, electronic and pop to subvert the conventions of the musical genre by using a mixer of the genre, which also shows the devolvement. As the music is has improved and has shown a lot of conventions of the musical genre as it has used a lot of camera techniques.  

Is the video a performance, narrative or concpetual video?  Is it a hybrid?  
The music video of "cash in m pocket which was by wiley" is  mostly on the side of the conceptual/interpretive as the video style is based around a single concept for example same location. it is utilize and uses a lot particular editing such as it has used a lot of cross cutting and jump cuts in the music video with the use of lots of camera techniques. it is filled up with a lot of the commercial world demands to be a bit more accessible.

Jump cuts from one shot to another, keeping the music video very interesting as its showing a lot of things at the same with a fast paced and there are use of slow pace throughout the music video.

Editing 
Cutways are used as it is in the same scene but it moves within fast pace to another shot.


Mise-en-Scene 
Location - showing rich life for example these include the type of house which looks very rich, costume, lighting type of golden light showing a shinny look to the location.

Construction/content
It is linking in with the idea of kids wanting to live the type of life that they would expect for example living in the rich house and being famous.

Representations
High class, as the location shows rich house, car and other makes the video represent in the way of wealthy.
 

How does the video adhere to, subvert or develop the conventions of the musical genre?
The video has used a range of camera and other techniques to adhere to the conventions of the musical genre as it shows the genre in a type of rich way. showing the genre is a type of high standard as it shows in the video. as the music is type of r&b and hip hop music the video is has a higher quality of representing it to the audience.
 Is the video a performance, narrative or concpetual video?  Is it a hybrid? The video mostly shows everything is included for example the narrative there is some kind of storyline as it is showing ranges of location and links in with the song, for example the word in lyrics, narration of what's going on in the music video is the lyrics being sung in the background. moreover there are also some performance of dancing the singing.
